Free sites are currently only open to Bay Area Artists. To get your free artists WordpPress website, please follow the steps below.

  1. Register *Check your spam folder for the verification email.
  2. Come back to this page and add a comment with what you want your site address to be. It can be or or whatever.
  3. I may also need your local IP address to add you to the whitelist.
  4. You will need to build the site yourself, so you need to understand the basics of WordPress. These videos might help. Start with this video.
  5. I will add your site and it will email you a login.

That’s pretty much it. WP will be installed, I added 6 themes for you to choose from, there are many features installed, but if there is a plug-in you want that isn’t there, let me know and I will see if I can add it.

I plan on adding some photo-gallery plug-ins and there will also be a directory of artists and an event calendar you can add too! We are getting started but hope to make this a great resource for local artists.

You can friend me on FB and msg me if you have questions or need help.

UPDATE: I am hosting an introduction to WordPress two hour seminar/workshop Wednesday 9/19/18 it will show you how to customize and configure your WordPress site, create pages, add menu items, add photos, and edit text.  There are still a few spots left RSVP here. Check the group for future WP meetups.

Here is a great video to show how to add pages and menus.

Hi Wes, I found the register link in the blog you posted. I registered and waiting for the email to activate the account. How long is the wait? It has been over 15 mins.

Should be instantaneous. Check your spam folder.

or if not-
Thanks so much for helping to put this together!

Stephanie, I don’t show your account registered. If you did register, you probably need to click the activation link that was emailed to you. We don’t currently allow for custom names to be addressed, but that may be added.

Hi I’ve recently moved to Alameda from Toronto where I was a commercial photographer for over 30 years. Since arriving I have been focusing on photographing Jazz musicians and have photographed 44 shows at The SF Jazz Center. I have taken down my commercial website and plan to build a new one. I just saw your email and am very interested in learning how to build my own site. I have a commitment for this evening but would love to attend your class. Please keep mo on your call sheet for the next session.
Thank you.
Don Dixon
